Maria was a versatile woman. The many migrations from one town in Austria (the emigration to Macao did not work out, thank god!) to the other were motivated by the profession of her husband Walther, but Maria accompanied him with great enthusiasm.

Thus, the location of her gravesite gave raise to discussions during her last year: Salzburg (where her kids grew up), Graz (where she enjoyed retirement), Vienna (2011/12), Linz or back to St.Gilgen (where the kids were born)?

Daughter Barbara hat the final idea already before she moved from Vienna to Linz: In her opinion a location near the rail between Vienna and Linz was most appropriate, and she knew a graveyard near the main station of Linz, where the trains still move slowly.

Now Maria's grave is in the St.Barbara Cemetery (sic!), grave Nr.223 in section 1, close to the chapel, where the farewell celebration took place; this grave can be seen from most trains, indeed!

The gnarled branch on the grave comes from an age-old cherry tree on the farm of Maria's son Walter.
